No bidding cap on UMPP developers: Govt
The government has decided that companies can bid for as many ultra mega power projects (UMPP) as they want, a move that could help players like Reliance Power and Tata Power.Instead of promoting competition, the government has put a stringent performance guarantee mechanism, plus penalty provisions to make sure that companies do not make too much of efforts to get UMPPs.
