PSU performance to be judged: Govt
Should a public sector undertaking be judged by its performance at the stock markets? Yes, says a proposal of the UPA government that seeks to introduce market capitalization as a new criteria to judge PSUs. So far, PSUs were ranked in terms of their sales, profit and net worth. But now, the Ministry of Heavy industry also wants to take a look at price-earning ratio of a PSU share, in other words, its performance at the stock markets.
