Tabla maestro Kishan Maharaj passes away
One of India's most versatile classical musicians, Pandit Kishan Maharaj, passed away on Sunday night at Varanasi. He was 85 years old. He died after being admitted to hospital following a paralytic attack. Maharaj was one of the finest tabla players of the country and had a career which spanned over half a century. He began playing tabla at the age of 11.
