Kerala experiences scanty rainfall

The rest of the country is experiencing normal and above normal rainfall but in Kerala, where the rain is born, rainfall this year is lower by almost 40 per cent in the first 12 days. This has led to a major power shortage in Kerala because inflow into the state reservoirs has reduced considerably.
