Mumbai: HC permits BMC to cut mangroves
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday allowed the BMC to cut down 93,000 sq meters of mangroves, an area of around 23 football fields, along the Mahul Creek north of Mumbai. The reason for this is to widen the creek bed and allow easy flow of rainwater to avoid flooding.
