Sold: Kolkata heritage church goes under hammer
An 84 year old church in Kolkata, a Chinese house of prayer has gone under the hammer. But its sale created a huge ruckus. A Chinese gentleman who once ran a restaurant on the ground floor of the building had all the papers for it and without informing the church trustees, he sold it off at a pittance of mere sixty-six lakhs rupees when the current valuation is between four to five crores.
