Salman Khan's hit-and-run case: rash act or culpable homicide?

The actor, if found guilty in the 2002 hit-and-run case, could now face 10 years in jail. This is after a local court declared that there was enough evidence to try him for a graver offence, 'culpable homicide', and not just for death caused by negligence.
