The government is spending almost Rs 50 crore for a three-day conference of panchayat representatives that began on Tuesday in the Capital.The initial proposal, costing Rs 100 crore, was rejected twice by the Cabinet, but the Panchayati Raj Ministry got it cleared by cutting the cost by half
