Cycles under scanner after Jaipur blasts
Many would call it a knee-jerk response but authorities in Varanasi would rather be safe than sorry. Buying a cycle will be now no more easy as the common man's mode of transport is under the scanner. After the recent blasts in Jaipur, where locally purchased cycles were used to place the bombs, authorities in Varanasi have made ID cards mandatory for buying cycles. Besides, traders will have to verify the buyer's identity.
