Did Amarnath row help BJP in J&K polls?
It is widely believed that the surge of the BJP in Jammu was caused by the Amarnath fiasco and the turmoil in the entire region. The BJP's seats went up from one last time to 11 in these elections, the biggest gain by any party. And the party may have won only one seat last time, it did win 12 per cent of the vote indicating a solid support base.
