Girl students still face discrimination
Shalini stays back two extra hours after school for special classes in English. The class 8 student of a government school in Hyderabad would love to converse in English. Shalini's young brother Bhaskar is also in class VIII but can speak fluently in English. That's because he goes to a private English-medium school, whereas the medium of instruction in Shalini's school is Telugu.
