Goddess Durga's fibre glass avatar
The Durga Pujas are still two months away but in Kolkata the countdown has begun. In the city's Kumartuli area, famous for the creation of idols of the goddess, artisans are busy making deities in clay. Some, however, are using fibreglass to make idols that are meant for export and will travel as far as the United States.
