Jharkhand: Malaria killing pregnant women
Along with children, malaria kills hundreds of women during or soon after childbirth. 15,000 women were investigated along the Jharkhand and Orissa border and the worst has come true. Malaria has emerged as one of the biggest killers of pregnant women in this region. Four-month-old Rinku will never know his mother. Anita died of cerebral malaria a fortnight after he was born.
