Kolkata: Gays parade for equal rights
It was a first of its kind in India, a gay parade in three Indian cities - Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata, an attempt by a community to finally be heard. The gay community marched for equal legal rights to repeal section 377 of the Constitution, which criminalises sexual minorities. For transgenders like Chandni, the march was an opportunity to tell the world and her family that she was proud of her sexual identity
