A report from the Auditor General points out Maharashtra government is spending huge amounts of money in lift irrigation schemes that have no chance of working. The Tembhu Project in Karad is one of the state's biggest lift irrigation schemes. NDTV has found that Rs 900 crore was spent despite indications that it had little chance of working.
