Malaria can prove fatal for unborn babies
It is killing hundreds of pregnant women but that's not all. Malaria is killing 70 out of every 1000 babies in areas where the disease is rampant. What's more, babies can get infected in the womb, which can prove fatal. A month ago, Padmini was anxiously waiting for her first baby. But 48 hours after birth, her son died of malaria. He was severely malnourished, just a little over a kg.
