Musharraf promises fair elections

Hours after lifting emergency, Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf announced that elections in the country will be held on schedule and will be free and fair. Musharraf expressed the view that the emergency helped bring about visible positive changes. He invited observers from any part of the world to scrutinise the elections.
