Parents bemoan new-age growth pangs
The famous five, a bunch of 12 year olds, who went on picnics and drank ginger beer were symbolic of the children of the 50s. In this day an age, a lot of 12 year olds drink real beer, have probably smoked and would much rather go out to a nightclub rather than climb trees.
