Riot cases: Justice aborted in Gujarat
After the Gujarat riots in 2002, more than 4000 cases were registered but only a few hundred ever made it to trial. There was a reason why the Supreme Court had to take the extreme step of transferring the case of Bilkis and a handful of others outside of Gujarat.
