SC asks Centre about equipments for cops
The Supreme Court has issued notice to the Centre seeking its response on providing modern equipments to policemen to deal with terror attacks. The Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by former Attorney General Soli Sorabjee contented that police in India is inadequately equipped, giving the example of three policemen who died during the Mumbai terror attack because of sub-standard bulletproof vests.
