Standoff between Centre, judges continues
There seems to no let-up in the stand-off between the top judges and the Centre. The Chief Justice's panel wanted to promote three high court judges over their seniors to the Supreme Court. The Centre stopped that. While government sources say it did this to avoid future embarrassment, judicial sources have indicated they may stick to their list.
