Water project: TN seeks Centre's help
The Tamil Nadu government, led by DMK chief M Karunanidhi, has asked the Centre to protect the rights of the Tamils over the Hogennakal project. The demand has come in response to Kannada chauvinists threatening to protest and attack Tamil property if Tamil Nadu goes ahead with the Hogennakal drinking water project.
