Walk The Talk With Developers of Pusa-1509 Rice
Pusa 1509, a new high-yielding basmati rice which requires very less resources and water has been developed by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI). Shekhar Gupta spoke to the scientists of IARI Dr AK Singh and KV Prabhu who developed this special breed of Basmati Rice and farmer Preetam Singh who is now become a millionaire after growing these modified breeds of crops.
