Taking the plunge: Ahmedabad village swims to fame
For over 25 years now Karsanbhai Shekhaliya, a school principal in the Pratapura village located about 120 km from Ahmedabad, has been producing champion swimmers. Almost everyone in the village of 1,000 can now swim. At least 30 have represented Gujarat at the national level and over 200 have participated in state level championship.
