Donald Trump, billionaire, real-estate czar and reality TV star, officially took oath as the 45th President of the United States of America on Friday at the Capitol Hill, in front of lakhs of people. Despite losing the popular vote to his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, the Republican won 304 electoral votes and thus, comfortably won the presidency following a largely controversial and highly-divisive campaign. With Donald Trump taking oath, Republicans will now have control of both the White House and Congress for the first time since 2006. Mr Trump has promised to undo some of the most significant pieces of his predecessor Barack Obama's legacy - including his signature health-care law, Obamacare. Dozens of Democratic lawmakers decided to boycott the swearing-in ceremony outside Capitol Hill, in a sign of deep divisions that Donald Trump sowed during his combative campaign. However, Ms Clinton and her husband, Bill, were present at the ceremony. After he took oath, Donald Trump delivered his inaugural address as US president.
