Two criminals escaped after a dramatic shootout on the Andhra Pradesh Express that left Delhi at 6:30 pm on Thursday for Hyderabad. Five policemen have reportedly been seriously injured.
The two murder accused, who were lodged at Agra Jail, had been taken to a court in Ghaziabad, on the outskirts of Delhi, and were being taken back to prison, when about 15 members of their gang attacked the coach of the train in which they were travelling, the police said.
There were only eight people in the coach - six policemen accompanying the two criminals. All six cops sustained injuries in the firing.
The train was at the Farah station, 180 km from Delhi and between Agra Cantt and Mathura when the gangsters attacked it.
