Agra:
A man allegedly thrashed his wife to death with a wooden hammer after tying her hands and feet and then stabbed her with a pair of scissors on Friday evening, police said in Agra on Saturday.
The wife was trapped as the room was allegedly bolted from inside and her hands and feet were, police said. Her shouts for help were drowned as the television was set at full volume, they added.
Inspector Arun Kumar said preliminary inquiries and evidence suggested Seema, 35, who was living separately with her three children was allegedly killed by her husband Ram Agarwal.
Police officers rushed to the rented room in Lashkarpur area following complaints by the neighbours.
The husband, Ram Agarwal, has been identified as the main accused, while his accomplice is still to be identified and tracked, police said.
