Heat wave conditions prevailed in parts of Uttar Pradesh though light showers in some eastern districts today brought respite to people from sweltering heat.
Allahabad at maximum 47.7 degree Celsius was the hottest place in the state.
The temperatures were above normal in Varanasi, Faizabad, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad, Jhansi, Agra, Meerut and Kanpur division.
Banda recorded a high of 47.2 degree Celsius, two points above normal, Jhansi and Agra registered 46.3 degree Celsius each, three degree above normal.
