A number of trains including Tamil Nadu Express, GT Express were delayed in Agra on Sunday as heavy rains had washed off the top soil between Jajau and Bhandai railway stations.
According to the DRM office spokesperson, top soil and stone grit were washed off early on Sunday between Jajau and Bhandai stations and a number of trains had to be stopped for hours till the repair work was completed this afternoon.
The whole Agra division including Mathura and Firozabad has been receiving heavy rainfall for the past 48 hours.
Intermittent showers continued on Sunday.
The weather office on Friday had warned of heavy rains in the region.
