The body of a 16-year-old boy, who was the son of a city corporator was found today in a field near the city, according to the police. The boy's hands and feet were tied, police said today.
His body was recovered in a field between Vaiman and Arhera villages in Kagarol area of the district leading police to believe he was kidnapped and killed.
Rohit Upadhyaya's hands and feet were tied and there were signs of his body being dragged, villagers who discovered the body lying in the field, said.
Rohit, a Class XI student of an English medium school, had gone with his friends on Monday night to fetch some medicines for the family.
When he did not return till late in the night, his father, Pramod Upadhyaya, BJP corporator from ward 51 (Nagla Bhoja) lodged a report with the police.
The body has been sent for postmortem. It was at the mortuary that Rohit's brother identified it after the family learnt of the discovery of a boy in a field, police said.
