Lucknow:
To promote tourism in Uttar Pradesh through adventure and aviation based activities, a hot air balloon festival would be organised between November 14 to 16 in Agra.
"Expert balloonists from 15 countries, including Spain, the USA, France, and Britain will participate in the Taj Hot Air Balloon Festival to be organised by the tourism department and showcase their talent," Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan said.
During the festival the skyline of Agra would resemble like a rainbow. It would be another step in the campaign to give Taj city a unique identity in the world, he said.
Hot air ballooning is considered to be the safest form of aviation sports. However officers have been directed that along with adequate security measures, arrangements should also be made for fire brigade and other services to handle any exigency, Mr Ranjan said.
Around 15 balloons would float in the sky of Agra in the morning and evening, Secretary Tourism Amrit Abhijat said, adding during the festival, being organised in association with e-Factor Adventure Tourism Private Limited, a musical night glow concert would also be arranged.
