The police has arrested the deceased woman's husband Salim Khan Pathan, who is also the son of a former Congress corporator from the Danilimbhada locality, for the alleged cold blooded murder of his wife and an attempt to cover it up.

On May 29, two months ago, the decomposed body of a woman was found lying along the road side near Shreyas Bungalows between the Manek Baugh-Shyamal crossroads road stretch, after which the investigation was handed over to the city crime branch, police officials said.

"The woman's body was found at an open place between Manek Bagh and Shyamal crossroads about two months ago. The crime branch was handed over the probe to find out whose body it was and under what circumstances it happened," Crime Branch Joint Commissioner of Police AK Sharma told reporters.

"During the course of the probe we discovered that the deceased woman Falak Naz Khan was the daughter of a former Gujarat minister Sirajuddin Kazi," he said. Sirajuddin Kazi was a former Food and Civil Supplies Minister of Gujarat, the Congress party has confirmed.
