Ahmedabad:
After Gujarat government's intervention, a five-year-old boy, who was detected with diabetes, was on Monday assured re-admission in senior KG class, by trustees of a local private school in Ahmedabad.
Admission of one Darsh Gondaliya had been reportedly 'cancelled' by the management of 'A One', a local school in Ahmedabad, after the authorities had come to know that the child was a diabetic.
However, after a complaint by his parents, Gujarat Health Minister Jaynarayan Vyas had intervened and directed the district education officer to seek explanation from the school management about the cancellation of his admission.
"Inhuman behaviour on part of any organisation shall not be tolerated. We have sought an explanation from the school authorities about the incident," Gujarat Health Minister and state's spokesperson Jaynarayan Vyas said.
The child's parents said that they had received assurance from the school trustee Viral Shah that their son would be re-admitted to the school soon.
"After the intervention of the state government the school trustee has assured us to re-admit Darsh in Senior KG, whose admission was earlier cancelled by the school principal on the ground that he had diabetes," the child's parents said.
