Fire in factories kills one, injures 4

Ahmedabad: One person was killed while four others sustained injuries in two separate fire incidents in an industrial area of the city on Monday. Ironically, in both the cases, the factory owners allegedly tried to cover up the incident and even tired to send back fire officials saying that everything was under control.

A police complaint was lodged only after a man lost his life in the incident. Fire officials were told of a fire in Honest Biovet, a company which manufactures vitamins, in Vatva GIDC area at around 12 in the afternoon.

However, when the team reached the site they were sentback by the owners as the fire was under control. The three were admitted to a hospital where Asari later succumbed to his injuries.

The second fire broke out in Anar Estate at Montex Industries in which two people, Jitendra Yadav, 35, and Bansibhai, 33, sustained injuries.

When the fire brigade reached the spot, factory officials said that no one was injured.
