Ahmedabad:
A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Vatva area, cops said. The girl had been missing for the past two days and her dead body was recovered on Tuesday. She was reportedly lured by a 25-year-old man who allegedly raped and strangulated her the day she went missing.
According to the Vatva police, the girl's father Ramesh Chauhan was approached by a 25-year-old neighbour Rajesh Yadav on Tuesday. Yadav allegedly said that he saw the girl in his dream and that she was somewhere near Ropada Railway flyover.
Ramesh, who had been fervently looking for his daughter ever since she went missing, went to the flyover where he found the girl dead.
The police were informed and as the investigation started it was revealed that she had been raped and killed. The girl's father told police that he got the information about her whereabouts from his neighbour Rajesh.
The police then interrogated Rajesh and he broke down in front of them.
"We have arrested Rajesh Yadav, who hails from Banda district in Uttar Pradesh. He has been living in Bhaldevbhai ni Chali where the girl was also staying. He enticed her and took her towards the abandoned place near Railway Bridge and raped her. Afterwards, he strangulated her," said Vatva police inspector GP Chauhan who is investigating the case.
Chauhan further added that to elude police and prosecution, Rajesh made a plan in which he claimed that he saw the girl in his dream. The Vatva police have registered the case.
