Ahmedabad: A teen-age son of an IPS officer of Gujarat Cadre killed himself at his residence, allegedly under pressure of study, here today, police said.
Hardik Singhal, son of Superintendent of Police of Kheda District G L Singhal killed himself at his residence by hanging himself, they said.
Around late afternoon, Manisha, wife of G L Singhal returned home and found Hardik hanging in his room. He was 16 years old and studying in standard 12th in a local school, police said.
He was immediately rushed to a local private hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police sources believe that he might have taken this drastic step under the pressure of study.
Police have registered the incident as accidental death at Satellite police station here.
