Ahmedabad: Tired of dialing Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC)'s helpline numbers, and waiting in vain to be taken on the show? Fret not, for here is a bigger platform for you to showcase your mettle. What's more, it has a regional twist to it as well!
Chief Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, announced the launch of a mega game show for Gujaratis, titled Gujarat Quiz. The show, the CM's brainchild, will be in the form of a website, and will have more than 5,000 questions on Gujarat.
The site will be called www.gujaratquiz.in. The quiz aspires to introduce the youth to the rich heritage and colours of the state, including its historical, literary, geographical, and educational peculiarities.
"I promise you that this show, though lacking in glamour, is no less interesting and challenging than KBC," said Modi, while addressing dignitaries, educationists and students at an international conference on higher education organised at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Gandhinagar.
Modi has also hinted about this initiative in his latest tweet. "Gujarat quiz, a portal about the heritage, geography, literature, and culture of Gujarat," the tweet read.
The site will have a bank of more than 5,000 questions, all of which will be focused on facts on Gujarat. Apart from playing the quiz, one can download and upload questions. Users will have to log in, select the language of their choice and their competency level, before taking the test. The main purpose behind this 'Gujarat Quiz' is to instill in the future generation, a sense of pride for their motherland.
"...Gandhi and Sardar were born out of this (land). Let's know our motherland so well that Gujarat's glory gets deeply imbibed in each one of us ..." reads Narendra Modi's blog regarding his alternative to KBC.
