Petrol pump staff robbed of more than Rs 36 lakh in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Two employees of a petrol pump were allegedly robbed of Rs 36.26 lakh by two unidentified bike-borne miscreants in Ahmedabad today, police said.

Pratik Patel, the manager of Indian Oil Corporation Limited's petrol station located at Shyamal crossroads, and an employee Jairam Desai were on their way to a bank located at Jodhpur Road when the incident took place, police said.

According to police, the two accused, in their thirties, stopped them and snatched the bag from Desai. When he tried to resist, he was hit on his head by the assailants with a country-made gun, they added.

Anandnagar police have registered a complaint and commenced a probe into the case.

Police Inspector JB Rana said that the role of any employee working at the petrol station cannot be ruled out and have asked for call details and other relevant information of all employees working there.
