In a road rage incident, a young woman was verbally abused and her car repeatedly rammed by two men with their Innova SUV at a busy intersection in Ahmedabad. The incident, which took place on February 23, was captured on a cell phone by a bystander, and has now gone viral on social media.
The woman, Ami Tahiliani, was going to a hospital in the city to attend to her ailing father-in-law, when her car had a minor mishap with an Innova.
"It was a minor brush up between the two cars... But before I could realize what is happening, the car driver came out and started abusing me. He didn't let me out of my car also. He called up some who arrived at the spot,'' recalled Ms Tahiliani.
Shockingly, as captured on the video, the driver's friend arrived at the spot, took out a child from the Innova and got into the drivers seats. "The man then started banging my car with the Innova repeatedly, while the other person kicked the door of my car and prevented me from coming out of the car," Ms Tahiliani said.
A traffic police official, who can be seen in the video, did little to stop the two men from attacking Ms Tahiliani's car.
About a week after the incident, based on the video evidence, the two men - identified as Yogesh Pujara and Chiman Desai - were arrested but later released on bail.
"I just want these men to be punished so that the rule of law is emphasised. You cannot behave like this," fumed an angry Ms Tahiliani.
