Allahabad:
The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday asked the Uttar Pradesh chief secretary to file a reply to a plea challenging the continuance of senior IAS officer Rama Raman as Chairman of Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority and Yamuna Expressway Authority on the ground that he has been Holding the posts for a "very long time".
A division bench, comprising Justice Arun Tandon and Justice Shashi Kant, passed the order on the PIL of one Jitendra Kumar Goel who has also named Noida's Additional CEO Pramod Chandra Gupta and Yamuna Expressway Authority CEO Santosh Yadav - besides Raman - as respondents in the case.
The petitioner has contended that the officers named in the PIL have been holding their respective posts for more than three years.
The petitioner also alleged that there have been large-scale irregularities in allotment of land to various
private parties in Noida and Greater Noida and prayed for ordering a CBI inquiry into the matter.
The court has fixed September 15 as the next date of hearing on the PIL.
