Allahabad : Police busted a high profile gang and recovered three 'ashtadhatu' (eight-metal) idols worth 25 crore in Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad district on Saturday.
The gang killed the temple priest and stole the idols.
The police arrested a women along with three others members of the gang from a hideout in Allahabad.
The gang was operating in the garb of policemen. A few khaki police uniforms have also been found on them.
"Preliminary investigations reveal the two have been involved in smuggling of antique idols for over the last five years," said police inspector Brijesh Dwivedi.
