Protest against job quota turns violent in Allahabad, students attack over 50 cars
Allahabad: Students in Allahabad went on a rampage today after their protests against the proposed reservation in the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) turned violent.

A mob of more than 1,000 aspirants vandalised shops and over 50 vehicles in the civil lines area of the city.

12 state transport buses were also attacked.

These students have been protesting the quotas that have been intrigued at various stages in the selection procedure. The change was introduced by the newly-appointed chairman.

The students allege that these changes have been introduced only to ensure that the maximum number of students from the Yadav community are selected for the state services.
