Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police today said it will sought help of its Uttarakhand counterpart to ensure security at Kumbh Mela.

"We will seek help of Uttarakhand Police to ensure security at the Kumbh Mela, where CCTV cameras will be installed at key points to keep an eye on activities of those visiting there," ADG (Law and Order) Jagmohan Yadav told reporters in Lucknow.

Stating that the control room would keep an eye on suspicious activities, Mr Yadav said that besides 50 companies of PAC, eight flood relief companies and several senior police officials would be deployed for ensuring security of the Mela.

He said that the state government has also asked Centre to provide 60 companies of central forces and 10 companies of Rapid Action Force.

Crores of devotees are expected to take a dip in Ganga river during Kumbh Mela in Allahabad next year.
