Amritsar : On a nation-wide cycle tour to spread the message of peace and unity, Hira Lal Yadav on Monday reached the holy city saying he would highlight the problem of female foeticide in Punjab.
Visiting the Khalsa College of Education in Amritsar, Mr Yadav interacted with teachers and students.
He told them he would focus on female foeticide in Punjab and neighbouring Haryana in view of the skewed sex ratio disturbing the social fabric in the two states.
Mr Yadav said he started his cycle tour from Arunachal on December five and his next destination would be southern parts of the country.
He said he had logged more than 81000 kms on the cycle.
