Amritsar:
A man and his son, facing a number of cases allegedly committed suicide in the chamber of their lawyer in the District Court Complex here, police said on Wednesday.
Rajesh Gupta and his minor son Sajjan were allegedly involved in more than 35 criminal cases of cheating, looting and fraud.
On Tuesday evening, the two had come to Amritsar court complex to meet their lawyer and after a while, requested him to allow them to stay in his chamber for the night. In the morning, when the lawyer came inside the chamber, he found their bodies lying there.
Police said the two had, a few days back, looted Rs 2.5 lakh from an ATM machine in Jalandhar district and went into hiding after their photographs captured by the CCTV were published in local dailies.
The two had looted more than 12 ATM machines in various districts of Punjab, police said.
