15 die in two road accidents in Andhra Pradesh

Karimnagar: Fifteen persons including five women and two children were killed and 34 others injured in two separate road accidents in Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh today.

Ten persons including two children were killed and four others injured when a lorry in which they were travelling overturned after a brake failure in Kondagattu ghat under Mallial police limits.

The incident occurred when 32 devotees from Dharmaram village of Morthad mandal in Nizamabad district were returning after a visit to Hanuman Temple at Kondagattu.

The seriously injured were shifted to Osmania Hospital at Hyderabad, police said.

In another accident in the district, five women were killed and 30 others of a marriage party were injured when a van in which they were travelling collided head-on with another speeding van near Renikunta village. The victims were returning from Gattu Bhutkur village in Gangadhara, to West Maredpalli in Secunderabad.

The newly wed couple and other injured persons were shifted to district headquarters hospital, police said.
