Machilipatnam : 19 fishermen from Tamil Nadu, whose boats had broken down in the Bay of Bengal, were rescued by locals, marine police said in Machilipatnam.
Local fishermen from Swaralagondi in Krishna district spotted two boats in the sea on Thursday night and brought the stranded fishermen onboard to safety on Swaralagondi coast, Inspector Muralikrishna said.
At present the rescued fishermen were lodged at Nagayalanka police station, he said.
