Andhra Pradesh government signed a Government-to-Business (G2B) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) during the second day of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's ongoing visit to China.

The business scope extends from international contracting for railway construction to different areas of civil engineering like design and consultancy, real estate development, trading, industrial investment and hotel management, according to an official Andhra Pradesh government release issued today.

Mr Naidu met Beijing Mayor Wang Anshun who welcomed Indian businessmen to set up their companies in China and urged Chinese businessmen to visit India to explore industrial opportunities, it said.

Stressing on closer cultural ties between both the countries, the Mayor added how Yoga is gaining popularity in Beijing, the release said.

Mr Naidu told the Mayor that he had visited Beijing before Olympics and this is his second visit to the city adding that as a newly formed state, Andhra Pradesh plans to achieve double-digit growth, it said.

Responding positively to the Andhra Chief Minister's invitation to work together, the Beijing Mayor agreed to work towards development of sectors like finance and tourism, the release said.

Following an interactive session with the Beijing Mayor, the Andhra Pradesh delegation met Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang.

After a brief interaction with the Chief Minister, the Chinese Vice Premier said that India and China are two big countries, sharing similar goals of development, which could transform the world, the release added.

The Vice Premier's portfolio being tourism and external economic relations, he assured the Mr Naidu that he will mandate the commerce ministry to explore the possibilities of expansion in Andhra Pradesh, the release said.

Mr Naidu mentioned that Sinoma International is keen to set up an industrial city in India and an MoU could be signed when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits China in May, the release said.

The Andhra delegation visited Huawei's Research and Development Centre in Beijing.

In an interaction with the top management of Huawei Technologies, the Chief Minister inquired how the company proposes to integrate Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for governance.

He asked the company to come up with a roadmap illustrating its proposal to integrate ICT to AP government programmes to measure public response and identify satisfaction indices, it said.

The company's management sought four weeks' time to draft a clearer plan in this regard and expressed interest in opening a development centre near the new capital of AP, the release said.

The AP CM also asked Huawei to consider hardware manufacturing in the state, it said.
