Vijayawada: In an attempt to encourage women to take up driving as profession, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today launched the 'She Autos' scheme and distributed 49 CNG-fuelled autos to women drivers at a function in Vijayawada.
The beneficiaries will have to pay Rs 4,500 per month for a period of 18 months and the remaining amount would be borne by the Women's Welfare Department as a subsidy, an official release said.
Each auto costs Rs 1.90 lakh, it added.
