Chief Minister condemns vandalism of Ambedkar statues

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today strongly condemned the desecration of Ambedkar statues in East Godavari district that resulted in
violence.

He reviewed the situation arising out of the incident with Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi, DGP V Dinesh Reddy and other senior officials at a high-level meeting at the Secretariat.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to take stringent action against the culprits. Special teams should be constituted to nab the culprits, according to a release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

Asking the officials to re-install the statues at the earliest, Reddy said the Government would bear the cost of this, the release stated.
